Schluter Systems: UMS Manufacturing

Project Overview:

A new 73,500 SF warehouse, constructed adjacent to an existing manufacturing, warehouse and distribution facility.

This expansion project required thorough planning and close coordination to mitigate any disruption to the sensitive manufacturing processes and distribution activities adjacent to the construction. Proactive problem solving was also required to meet the unique challenges of the site and the aggressive schedule of the project.

Trucking distribution access, located in the footprint of the new facility, was maintained throughout construction. The new facility tied in to the existing building for access by both truck and forklift traffic, requiring reconfiguration and renovation of existing plant layout and traffic patterns.

This facility addition was designed and constructed to LEED Silver Certification requirements, and recently was awarded LEED Gold Certification.
