Schluter Systems: SSF Production

Project Overview:

A project consisting of two new facilities — a 29,000 SF warehouse and a 20,000 SF manufacturing facility — for a sophisticated foam backing product

The construction of this project occurred in two phases: a warehouse facility followed by a manufacturing facility. To limit the impact of construction on the existing operations on this large manufacturing campus, our initial site work required the detailed coordination of a scheduled relocation of Schluter Systems’ existing utilities.

As problematic soils were found to exist in the footprint of the new warehouse facility, dynamic compaction was utilized as a cost- and schedule-efficient solution. Closely located and adjacent to production and warehouse facilities, the project required coordinated site logistics and careful access planning to ensure a smooth process and successful completion.
