Project Overview:

A project which breathes new life into a historic building in downtown Stowe, VT.

Previously the home of Laughing Moon Chocolates, Lake Champlain Chocolates acquired the chocolate business and their beautiful downtown Stowe location with plans to revitalize the building.

A previous fire, while it had been contained and the building saved, had rendered the building heavily damaged by smoke, water and fire. An extensive gut demolition and structural repairs were required before a full remodel began. The remodel included all new MEP systems, structural foundation work, structural roof framing, exterior siding replacement and repairs, new partitions, finishes and equipment.

In-house work completed by NCC’s talented craftsmen included the fabrication of a mix of new casework and reconfigured salvaged casework from the Lake Champlain Chocolates Pine Street Cafe project. The end result is a beautiful retail and cafe space on the first floor, as well as a second-floor apartment with separate tenant access. Custom casework, local materials, and thoughtful details make this space a great addition to the list of Lake Champlain Chocolates destinations.
